Red Plume Agate: ‘SACRED GROVE’

painting Red Plume Agate: ‘SACRED GROVE’

Red Plume Agate: ‘SACRED GROVE’

Red Plume Agate is a Texas Source Gemstone made famous by the Woodward Ranch, near Alpine. This unique and well-treasured agate was produced in the
Big Bend Trans-Pecos region 35 million years ago by one specific volcanic event consisting of seven separate lava flows.
Gaseous cavities within the basalt formed amygdaloidal pockets that received silica rich ground waters crystallizing as nodules with delicate plumes, wildly colored and banded by the varied lava mineral impurities. Since the 1940’s the Woodward Ranch has been known as this rock-hounder’s haven.

Literary folklore suggests the agate stone improves courage, strength, communication, memory, circulation, vitality, longevity, intellect, creativity, eloquence, good fortune and wealth.

‘SACRED GROVE’ reminds us to create and cherish precious moments in our lives

Ammonite Fossil ASCEND

Ammonites were ancient Cephalopods similar to the modern squid, octopus and nautiloids with a hard exterior shell. These Mollusks enjoyed 330 million years on earth during the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods along with the dinosaurs. Having been creatures of the open tropical seas, Ammonite fossils are abundant in limestone reef areas around the world.
The characteristic spiral shape was formed by the Fibonacci growth pattern known as Phi or the Golden Ration (1.618), creating a coil of chambers in which the invertebrate carnivore lived. The unoccupied chambers contained various degrees of gas to assist buoyancy and agility in ocean waters of all depths.
Ammonite fossils were first known as Ammon’s Stones because they looked like the Ram’s horn of Ammon- the Egyptian god of life. For thousands of years, Ammonites have been collected and prized for their geometrical beauty and symbolic resonance.

ASCEND reminds us to appreciate the spiraling evolution of the Universe.

Yellow Turquoise MYSTIQUE

YELLOW TURQUOISE: Yellow Turquoise is a Copper Aluminum Phosphate mineral with a triclinic crystalline structure. Its striking blues derived from Copper, and its greens and yellows come from Iron. Although named as a stone from Turkey, the best specimens today are found inIran, Afghanistan, Australia, China, and the Southwestern United States.
Turquoise may be the oldest-used of all gemstones dating back to Persia 5000 B.C. This popular stone has been fashioned into decorative jewelry, amulets and weapons and is believed to possess properties that bring good fortune, protect from harm, increase wealth and improve communication.
Ancient Arabians called turquoise “Fayruz” meaning lucky stone!

MYSTIQUE reminds us to look for the magic and mysteries in our everyday existence.

Ocean Jasper ORBICULAR ALCHEMY

Ocean Jasper ORBICULAR ALCHEMY

OCEAN JASPER: Ocean Jasper is a colorful variety of Chalcedony often called Orbicular Jasper. It is a highly silicified Rhyolite that has Quartz and Feldspar crystallized into radial aggregates of needle-like crystals formingorbicular (spherical) structures. The many small spheres or ‘orbs’ inits matrix may appear as circles, stripes or eyes. Some believe thisstone may actually be fossilized coral.
Orbicular Jasper is a recent discovery of 1997 found at low tide on the northwest coast of Madagascar near the village of Morovato ; where it was mined, polished and/or carved then sold to the public as ‘Ocean Jasper’. The mine is now depleted.

Ocean Jasper is believed to promote joy, provide protection, and improve creativity.

ALCHEMY reminds us to spend time with nature.

Baculite Fossil TRINITY

BACULITES GREGORYENSIS: (Late Cretaceous Period only) Baculites Gregoryensis is a minerlized Cephalopod fossil and extinct ancestor of the Octopus. Known as the “walking stick rock”, Baculites is distinguished by its straight shelled heteromorphic form and intricately foliated suture lines.
Baculites fossils are found in many deposit beds around the world and range in size up to two meters long. They are most commonly found broken in several pieces, usually along the fragile suture lines. Individual chambers found this way are sometimes referred to as “stone buffalos”due to their anthropomorphic shape. For some of these fossils, eons of intense heat and pressure created a pseudomorphic mineralization process where a variety of silicates and other elements replaced the brittle fossil structures “turning them to stone” so to speak.
Their colors are generally rich ochre, umber, or sienna, contoured by lighter suture lines that create vibrant distinctions between the shellular growth patterns.

TRINITY reminds us to look beyond the particles and notice the details of life’s intricate inner-connectedness.

PICASSO ROCK:is a metamorphic limestone form of Jasper found primarily in Utah, U.S. Identifiableby its striking combinations of browns, blacks, grays and whites, thestone often presents a scenic image such as forest trees, water bodies, and hill sides in winter. The dramatic layering effects of this stoneare a result of multiple transformations from pressure and heat deep within the earth.
